Before proceeding, use this table to determine the correct update method:

V3 Spotter + cellular connection (SPOT-3XXXXC) v2.2.x or later OTA or USB
V3 Spotter (SPOT-3XXXXR) Below v2.2.x or NO cellular USB
Legacy Spotter (SPOT-0XXX) v2.1.x or earlier Contact Support

Finding your Spotter’s firmware version

  1. Log in to the Spotter Dashboard at https://spotter.sofarocean.com
  2. Select your Spotter
  3. Navigate to Spotter Settings → Status
  4. Note the current firmware version
